Book is clean, tight, square and unmarked. Jacket has small closed tear on front panel, some rubbing at spine ends, very slight spine fade, trace of rubbing; else clean and unmarked.   The first  Hoke Moseley, subject for movie of the same name starring Fred Ward, Alec Baldwin and Jennifer Jason Leigh.  With the Moseley series, Willeford, who labored in obscuity most of his career, finally achieved the recognition he deserved.

Herron (9b) Flat cardstock sheet which was intended to be cover for the Dennis McMillan publication of UNDERSTUDY FOR DEATH, a reprint of Willeford's very scarce PBO, UNDERSTUDY FOR LOVE.  The book was never published, apparently due to contractual difficulties.  This title is listed in the bibliography of Don Herron's WILLEFORD as a "ghost edition."  The cover, with Joe Servello art, was printed in advance.  In Fine condition, a unique item for the Willeford completeist
